The Nigeria’s former inspector general of Police and also chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Coomassie is dead. Alhaji coomassie died on Thursday tbis evening at the age of 76 years.
His younger brother, Dahiru Coomassie confirmed the death.
He is survived by one wife, six children which are 2 females and four males and many grand children.
He was the longest serving Inspector General of Police in history of Nigeria.
Before his death, Coomassie is the Sardauna Katsina of Emir of Katsina and Garkuwan Hausa of Emir of Daura.
He was rushed to the Orthopedic Hospital in Katsina around 11am in the morning, regain his consciousness after an hour and gave up around 5pm this evening.
Chief of Katina, Justice Danladi Musa was among the earlier callers in his house around 8:20pm.
His corpse was said to have been brought to his residence from the hospital where he died.
Funeral prayer to be performed on late Coomassie after the Jumaat prayers at the Bani Coomassie Mosque in GRA, a stone throw to his residence and to be buried according to Islamic rites.
