Landslide Kills Two Minor In Jigawa- Saharacable

The Jigawa State Police Command has disclosed that two minor have been killed by landslide at Bakin -Jeji village in Dutse local government area of the state.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Audu Jinjiri confirmed the incident to DAILY POST in Dutse.

He said that the incident happened on Wednesday at about 1340 hours when two boys, Alkassim Auwalu of 16 years, and Tahir Rilwanu, 12 years old, were trapped in the sand.

“At at about 2:00 pm police in the area received information that two boys Alkasim and Tahir were buried in the sand,” he said.

Jinjiri explained that the incident occurred when the two boys were digging at a burrow pit where a heap of sand collapsed on them, and as a result, they both died on the spot.

He said they were taken to hospital by the police and certified to be dead by the medical doctor, after which their remains were later released to the relations for burial.

Jinjiri, however, stated that the case is still under investigation.
